grandson Olli had his 1st lot of treatment yesterday, got to have it once a week now for the rest of his life. Daughter having to take him Leicester Hospital every week now for 8 weeks and in that time she has to learn how to put the little needles in and sort the two machines out that give him his medication. After that they will send the medication to them so it can be done at home.
The condition he has is called Panhypogammaglobulinaemia...what a name but the doctors call it xla as its a bit of a mouth fill.
Was good and happy, had fun trying to stop him pulling them out as in the tops of both legs
the nurses said to get Olli a little ruck sack so the pump things can go in the sack and he can carry them around as takes 50 minutes..
so releaved and a bit happier now as they said he could have a ellergic reaction to the medication but touch wood he's ok...

Gorgeous, girly card, fabulous image and love the colouring! Your grandson is cute!!! Hope the treatment goes well for him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in the challenge at Aud Sentiments this week.
Hugs,

What a pretty girly card - I just love pink/green colour combo and your colouring is lovely. Your grandson is so cute - its great that there is treatment for him for his condition - children cope so well with these things, My youngest son (now 21) is physically disabled and has friends with all kinds of conditions (some would reduce you to tears) but these kids just accept it as normal and get on with it - your grandson will be a true inspiration to you - big hugs Judith x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Lozzy, love the distressing!
ReplyDeleteAnd sending hugs for Olli. Treatment every week may be awkward and frustrating, but it's better than no treatment at all, and in the grand scheme of things, 50 minutes a week is a small price to pay! He is such a gorgeous little man, and I know he's going to be just fine. x
Gorgeous card Lozzy, very colourful and lovely design.
ReplyDeleteI hope your Grandson's treatment goes well, he's gorgeous, I was born in Leicester all my family are there, we moved to the Island in 85.
Hugs Julie xxxx
